OIL

The old Technique

Oil Painting using Colour pigments blended with oil. Thinned with turpentine.

Usually first layers are thinnner than next layers.

Alla Prima is the technique of painting the paint in one- go or wet-on-wet technique.

Charcoal

Charcoal

In use since Stone Age

Charcoal is one of the oldest and most expressive art mediums.

Charred wood is used to create rich black and white artwork.

Water colors

Pigments floating in water can give a floating, dreamy apperance in the final painting.

Light tones has to be untouched by the brush /pigment to give the light appearance.

The technique is quite different from oil painting.

Water colors are painted on paper, weight and medium specified.
